I'm not that bothered about Rayner. I agree that she's a non event.
John Prescott was deputy to Tony Blair, so you've got to have some balance, not that I'm suggesting Sir Keir Starmer is a Blairite by any means.
In fact, I don't think Starmer will take Labour down the New Labour path. He is very much an unknown and has been careful not to paint himself as anything.
What I do think he will bring is credibility and competence. Something that was badly lacking with Corbyn and his shambolic cabal of Abbott and McDonnell.
And you are right Marion. I know many life long Labour voters and also a lot of post office workers who are all in the middle of massive conflicts with their management - and many of them flatly refused to vote for Corbyn. I'm not saying they voted Tory, but they simply refused to go out and vote Labour.
