I totally agree with you Red Hatter and if he gets it right I would certainly vote for him as too would the Labour heartlands Corbyn and Momentum bullies betrayed
It may take him 10 years or more but if he understands and effectively reacts to why Labour lost their credibility so drastically at the last general election.
I now sincerely hope he leads Labour back to being a viable opposition and reverse the disaster imposed on the party
Those true Labour supporters who totally rejected that insignificant and inept Momentum puppet Corbyn deserve better, as too the country as a whole.
Momentum and the far left sycophants and apologists who used Corbyn and hijacked the party will hopefully now be quickly routed and will be forced out of their parasitic position and will be totally humiliated as standalone unelectorable Marxists and Stalinists.
Maybe any indirect funding from Putin that they were allegedly serupticiously receiving will stop now they have failed to corrupt the UK electorate as many genuine Labour supporters saw them for the vermin they are!
The composition of Starmer's new shadow cabinet will be critical as to how Labour goes forward, and he has control of who is in and who does what and for that I have every confidence in him in his choices.
The new deputy leader was not in his gift and not necessarily his choice and again it will be interesting to see how and if they can work together.
Rayner is totally different in her background to Starmer and the majority of her Labour parliamentary colleagues both education and background
She left the school aged 16 after becoming pregnant and did not obtain any qualifications so I wonder how her qualifications and life experiences at just 40 years of age will assist him on the world stage and when dealing with economists and career civil servants?
Will the fact she later studied part-time at Stockport College, learning British Sign Language, and qualifying as a social care worker now be of use to her? Time will tell.
Would Starmer confidently take advice from his new deputy given her age and background?
As Scarf says “Starmer is a stickler for detail. Stark contrast to the Prime Minister” the difference is that Johnson delegates all the time and uses this as his default position and he excels in finding and using the expertise and guidance of many others as is being shown during this virus crisis.
Maybe she will just be there in name only like Diane Abbott was and leave Starmer and the real Labour decision makers to get the party back into the real world.
Labour has been sorely missed, in my opinion we lost the Brexit referendum, for which as I was a ferment remainer, because of Corbyn and his immediate inept self-righteous cronies.
I cannot forgive Corbyn for the destruction of the party and I hope he fades into a much deserved obscurity with the stigma of failure and the disgust of the people he betrayed haunting him for the rest of his days.
