    The smell.

    Rat urine smells like nothing else, it is overpowering. They wee in the wall cavities, the whole house stunk.

    As well as the disgusting smell their pee carries Hantavirus which you can breath in in and it is deadly.

    The scuttling and scratching just sounds like normal house creaking, until you know what it is then you're on full paranoia!

    The Pest Control company were brilliant, they sorted it out and a week later we were back to normal with holes filled in, traps and poison.

    Whatever you do, if they come into your house, get a pro in. These rats are way too smart for the u initiated😱
