My first game, aged 10, was in 1969.
County just couldn’t do wrong in my eyes, and every season in the 70s was an improvement on 1969-70.
It never occurred to me to stop going. And like you, every summer I was looking forward to a promotion season.
1974 was my lowest point as a County fan, when the players went on strike, and the club released Alan Ogley the following summer.
Plenty of high points in the 70s though: Palace and West Ham Brian Doyle as manager Paul Hart Barney Daniels Stuart Lee Top of the league in 76 Steve Massey’s pearler at Blackburn
