As a nation, as a people, we've never really reacted well to being told what we can and cannot do.
On many occasions it has served us well. This pandemic though, isn't one of them.
Mothers Day still had a roaring trade in some Pubs/Restaurants today. Right now there will be two or three pints lined up on the bar at many a pub (only fair to let the bar staff go home before midnight).
People with 'bit of a cold' will shake and go into work as normal, some out of habit, some out of fear of losing their job, some out of sheer bloody mindedness.
Ironically, the '#### You' attitude will bring about not just heightened police presence, but will accelerate the Government deploying troops on the street.
Then we'll really kick off (possibly whilst belting out a rendition of UDA ALL THE WAY, #### THE POPE AND THE IRA, with not the slightest hint of irony)
Does anyone STILL think this is overblown? Just like Flu?
