I try not to be too cynical but you have to think that some of this is because he is under massive pressure from the huge Insurance Industry and others i.e. if he said the Goverment has banned pubs and restaurants from opening then the owners could claim. But by 'advising' he gets pretty much the same effect but but protects the insurance companies. Same for travel ... thousands of people like me waiting on the FOC to advise against all travel ... but no, drag it out and leave people to take decision themselves and lose all their money. We sat at Heathrow this morning watching the flights and general situation in Thailand and Singapore worsen and trying to decide if we should go ... we had friends already there sending messages saying that they were at the airport watching flights get cancelled all over the place and Singapore saying that travellers arriving from certain countries including the UK would be given Stay At Home Notices and have to restrict themselves to their hotels ... we were hoping that the FOC might just think bo*locks to the Insurance Sector and protect the money of travellers ... no chance, we left the airport like many on our flight and just said "isn't worth the risk of getting stranded" and lost our money ... too cynical?
