It is, the mortality rate of this is thought to be somewhere between 3 and 4%. However I believe that may be inaccurate. It's easy to work out how many have died for obvious reasons, but the other side of the equation is more complicated. Given the time of year and the mild version of it giving flu like symptoms, I'm not sure that anyone knows how many people have had it, put it down to seasonal flu, or another virus and not therefore been counted. Hopefully that would reduce the overall death rate.
