Rob, I'll try and help you out here. No one as far as I can remember condones acts of violence or idiocy, and as you reference Suedehead then I specifically recall him saying that he had a word with the lads who got on the rail line at Dagenham, so maybe not fair to reference him in that way. Likewise the lad that got on the pitch today was booed and as well as looking a complete idiot, will get a banning order. No one on here has condoned it and I think we all think we are well rid of him.
You seem a very intelligent guy so surely you can see the difference between hostile, violent and idiotic behaviour and the outpouring of joy and happiness when this wonderful game and our wonderful team produce something that inspires emotions and suppresses our usual behaviour. It's not bad it's gleeful.
I am old enough to remember going on the pitch at the end of every game, in fact today brought back memories of running on to see my heroes off the pitch patting Paul Hart on the back and him snotting a load of blood out of a broken nose all over me.
A few years ago we talked on here about what was going to happen when we all became too old or worse fell off the perch. Well now we seem to have attracted a whole new youthful fan base all of a sudden. Perhaps they are kids that got free tickets for the pop side 10years ago and got hooked, who knows, but it's all fantastic for the future and long may it continue. Of course youth brings an element of breaking rules and youthful exuberance that can walk a fine line between today's incident (definitely not OK) and celebrating a last minute winner, probably still not OK for the authorities but massively understandable. I would rather have the young uns with us (they will grow up and be you and me one day, well me maybe) than have a dying out breed of fans who dwindle to nothing.
No disrespect to you, we are all entitled to our views and all on the same ship.
