It was impressive, even to the Ebbsfleet fans, to see such a large contingent of County fans so far from home. County played with immense grit and determination against an improving Ebbsfleet side, it was a war of attrition on a difficult pitch and, at times, in appalling weather - the freezing rain at the start of the second half put a real dampener on things, quite literally. Many County players played particularly well and never gave up in their attempts at breaking down a decent Ebbsfleet defence. Danny Lloyd had an immense game, he put in 100%, just as he did last week at Woking. Our defence looks more solid than it has been in years with Liam Hogan and Ash Palmer once again proving to be more than effective. We are lucky to have Ben Hinchliffe, he was as dependable as ever, and produced a couple of outstanding saves. All that we are lacking, in my opinion, is a striker or attacking midfielder with an eye for goal - I have heard Connor Jennings mentioned, he would be ideal. Let's hope that Jim manages to bolster his striking options prior to the crunch match at home to Barnet.
