    Many moons ago a bloke at work said I couldn't drink 3 pints of the stuff, always up for a challenge I met the Major at 5.30 at the Unity and had completed the task by 6.30. I was showing no ill effects and had acquired a taste for the hideous brew so went for a 4th, as I finished that a chap looked up from his broadsheet and was so impressed he rounded it up and bought me a 5th. As it was probably only 7.30ish the task was on, how many could I drink, Murph the landlord was used to seeing me bladdered and joined in the fun.
    We left the pub at around 10 and went to get the Cheadle Hulme train, that night United were at home to Everton and had been hammered 3-0, as a South bound train pulled in I decided to abuse the glum reds, the train stopped just long enough for them to get off and give me a kicking, at least that was the Major's version even though I thought I'd won. He did get me home that night but I admit to calling in work sick the next day, however I turned in at lunchtime, never touched it since.
