Of course ‘skilled’ in a care profession means different to ‘skilled’ in say, a STEM career. That’s so obvious as to be trite.
But that’s why cutting down ‘unskilled’ migration is a fallacy. The same applies to Oakwood’s rather tasteless post below. Treat these people as dispensable and worthless for the sake of a ‘better’ (whatever that means) immigration system, and see how long it is before we’re absolutely crippled by the shortages of people we need because we’re run by a bunch of Little Englanders who demand a well-paid job and, ridiculously, a PhD for the people they let into the country.
