And what signal would that give to other Clubs. Last season Yeovil and Bury started off in the same League (League 2) and whilst Teovil tried to live within their means Bury spent money the didn't have. They (Bury) had done so for years and no Bury fan could say hand on heart that they hadn't questioned where the money was coming from. Not withstanding the inconsistency of blaming the EFL for the actions of others and ignoring the treatment of Hereford, Darlington and Chester etc sticking Bury and Yeovil in the same league less than a year later gives the wrong signal - that some clubs get preferential treatments. Bury are not geared up for the National League. They will probably think it will be a stroll in the park but they will effectively be starting from scratch. They need to be at a level where they can be competitive because getting gubbed every week will see support drop away which will in turn mean moving back up the leagues will take longer. |
