Yes. The Co-op met with Simon Wilson before the takeover was signed and when you have ambitious plans like Mark Stott has for the Club, I think the manager needs that level of support.
When you are looking at new training facilities, setting up academies, identifying and developing players on a much larger scale and overseeing major investment in infrastructure, I think you need someone who can help deliver that.
We need to be identfying top local youngsters and ensure that they are with County for part of their journey. Not have local lads like Taylor Bellis and Phil Foden go straight to City.
The question is will the appointment work and results will prove one way or the other, but Simon Wilson seems to have a very good background and wish both him and Jim well.
