4-4-2 is not the answer. 4-4-2 is a less attacking formation than 4-2-3-1 when 4-2-3-1 is used properly.
The issue is right now the players aren’t performing to the best of their ability. They’re slow to the ball, sloppy in possession and wayward with their shooting. That would be the case with any formation.
It looks like some of them have given up on the season. We’re effectively safe (which was the club’s target at the start of the season) and some of them know their time is nearly up at the club, so job done for them.
