It’s not really the same though is it? People move house generally throughout their lives, you’ve built that extension but someone else will likely live in it at some point and you’ve increased the value of the property to the owner.
Rebuilding Edgeley Park doesn’t really increase the value of it to the council. We have a sole tenancy agreement and if they were to sell it they’d likely only sell it for the land so new buildings are worthless to them.
Either way it’s likely the ownership will be leaving the council at some point I think relatively soon. Either to Stott, the club or (my preference) some kind of protected ownership body, like the co-op or a specifically developed trust.
