I agree, up here in Whitby the less profitable routes have been stopped, meaning older people can't get about but end up using taxi's . . . for me, cheap bus travel, possibly subsidised or nationalised to get public money driven into it. Many routes, cheap fares, it's the only way to get people out of their cars and even then it may not on the scale required . . . i'm guilty as though as I own 2 taxis and a private car
