In fairness, for all the grief he gets, he was clearly still more than good enough playing-wise and that bit of quality before Hardiker's second can't ever be erased. I only spoke to him once, but as others have said, he seemed a decent bloke who, contrary to some suggestions, didn't take himself overly seriously. However, he obviously was not a great manager for us.
