Seem to remember he strolled up to take one when no other County player had the bottle to take one, and this was when Jim was a boo-boy victim early in his County career. He scored, and the boo-boys decided to start having a go at Chris Beaumont instead. Then he had one v Bournemouth in a night fixture, and just as he was about to take it, the floodlights failed and he had to wait about 20 minutes before he managed to take and score it. Then he had one v Exeter, Jim took it, scored, but the referee ordered a retake for encroachment. Took it again, the Exeter keeper saved it but then the keeper decided to kick out at Andy Preece who was following up. Keeper sent off, another penalty for Jim to take and this time he scored and the goal stood.
