It's at least as prevalent as ever. The President of the USA is an example of that. Whilst I'm not comparing the behaviour this country's current PM to the crimes Salmond has been accused of, he is clearly able to act in a way that is morally indefensible (ignoring the fact he happily played a part in arranging to get a journalist beaten up) because he is able to do so. We, the public, are to blame for that because we allow them to get away with it. In some cases we cheer on their blatant disregard for decency and rule of law.
