Agree. And said the same last season. If they're rarely on the pitch together but playing the No.9 role then the cumulative goals is one thing you can use as part of the argument.
Obviously there is more to being a No.9 than scoring goals, so you have to look at how they hold the ball up, bring others into the game, etc. But it matters less when we go through the midfield, which is also when we look a genuine threat. There's not much point having the players we have if we're going to bypass them, lump it to the centre forward and try to pick up the bits.
