GX Hatter, I have invited you to stand for the Co-op board or get involved on more than one occassion.
I've also been discussing whether the Co-op can work with suedehead on the shirt exhibition, but we need an arrangement that will work for both parties. The concept of a shirt exhibition is fantastic.
I don't get involved in the shirts or merchandise, but I know a lot of work goes into the organisation and it is a big fund raiser for the Co-op. There has clearly been an oversight with the Ash Williams shirt - it should have been promoted more frequently and maybe there should have been a reserve, but when someone has made a bid in good faith, then the Co-op are obliged to accept. We will review and make sure this doesn't happen again.
There are quite a lot of posts on here recently looking to chip away at the Co-op and I don't know what some people are trying to achieve? The amount of work that goes into being on the Co-op board is massive and it isn't at all easy on top of a full time job.
The Co-op provides a voice for the fans and directly raises questions on their behalf. We've set up an Asset of Community Value on Edgeley Park, which was critical when Kennedy wanted to sell the asset. We've set up the Guardian Account which stands at £60,000, which would be invaluable if we were ever to find ourselves in a situation like Bury.
We've provided a complete set of new benefits to being a Co-op member, but even received criticism for doing that this week.
Do people actually want an active supporters organisation or don't they? There are elections in November if anyone wants to stand for the board.
