I think we ought to be less concerned by individual errors on the day. It’s one of those games where there’s nothing to be gained from it.
Mulhern obviously lost his head for that. He hasn’t made the step up. He’ll either get his head in the game, or be down the road in the short term.
Cowan was a decent squad player at National North level, and is now exposed playing a level higher in the wrong position. I can be forgiving of that, because we need a left back. It’s not his fault we don’t have the bodies.
Leesley I’ll give the benefit of the doubt to. He came into a side going through a crisis of confidence. He was a hindrance on Saturday, but as above with Mulhern: buck up or he’ll be back off to Harrogate fairly quickly.
Keane had his worst game in a County shirt. He’s not in his best position, and he’s probably knackered from having just had a baby. Again, I can be forgiving of that.
I think it’s probably one of those ‘evolution, not revolution’ situations. A few new bodies needed, everyone else needs to press reset and re-learn the basics (like how to take a throw-in). A clear week is probably a good thing.
