What we spend tax payers money on...Archived Message

So, the repatriation cost for Thomas Cook customers to come back home is being absorbed by the tax payer. The cost £100m+
There is no such Government support for those staff of Thomas Cook left stranded overseas.
And, given that this is how it works, I presume I'm able to submit my receipt for breakdown and towage costs following the holiday I chose to take up in Aviemore earlier this year.
How do Government decide and choose what to spend their money on?? When does personal accountability come into play? And when did we the taxpayer become funders for people who disappear on foreign holidays and get unlucky ?
