With all the furore about proroguing and County's recent set of unfortunate results thought I would offer a little distraction especially for those older ones on here. On Sunday afternoon was watching the 1960s film 'A Taste of Honey' - a lot of it was filmed in Stockport and other locations in the area. I lived on Ash Road off Spring Mount (now the site of a primary school) at the time - I remembered them filming Dora Bryan and Rita Tushingham climbing out of that cellar window on Larkhill - a couple of doors along from the shop at the corner of Cunliffe Street. Also on film was a shot of the Spion Kop leading down to the Brinksway Pictorium (Bug Hut). I thought it was filmed around 1960 but at about 1 hour 30 or a few minutes either way in a shot of the ship canal - am sure I saw the M6 road bridge over the ship canal in the background. Traffic was moving over the bridge which I thought did not open until later in the 60's. The actual film was dated 1961. Is my memory playing tricks?????
