We did play the ball through the middle very effectively until their goal. After that there was less space because they began to sit back and the space got cramped. After their second they sat back totally and we had to go side to side more.
Positives:
We played some lovely football especially in the first half and created chances, at least three of which should have found the net before half-time.
We kept going right to the end.
We put in some great crosses.
Negatives:
We looked vulnerable in the air at the back from crosses and corners.
In possession in the second half, we slowed the game down and looked short on ideas on how to break down a stubborn, understrength, very average side.
Conclusion:
We have to put away our chances and develop an effective plan B when we go behind and find ourselves facing a 10 man defence.
