The five-goal steamroller at the Diósgyőri Stadion relegated DVTK from the Nemzeti Bajnokság I and saw Debrecen back in third and a UEFA Conference League place. Own goals by both Diósgyőri central defenders Szatmari and Tamas helped pile on the home side’s misery but this was Debrecen’s best performance in weeks. Debrecen went two up in the space of three first half minutes, firstly when Debrecen-born Csaba Szatmari put through his own net then with a second added by Ukrainian born left winger Florian Cibla. 32 year old Mark Tamas doubled the own goal tally in the 52nd minute. Dominik Kocsis made it four after 79 minutes before Cibla secured a personal brace in the dying seconds. Top two Ferencvaros and Gyori ETO play each other in a massive game tomorrow, with both clubs level on points and Ferencvaros top. With three games left after that clash. Gyori ETO are Debrecen’s next opponents at the Nagyerdei Stadium next Sunday.
