The road to Wembley (in the Carabao Cup anyway) came to an end for County in Wigan on Tuesday night. Our last appearance at the country’s national stadium was in May 2023 as we lost on penalties in the League Two play-off final against Carlisle. A sad day for the thousands of County fans who travelled to London for the Sunday lunchtime kick-off, but for Carlisle fan Lewis Ridley, that’s his best ever memory following the Cumbrians. We touch upon that game today, along with Mark Hughes, Brunton Park and Carlisle finding themselves back in non-league after back-to-back relegations.
