We did a bit of a corker when I was a trainee reporter on the Carmarthen Journal in West Wales.

We "revealed" that the closing scenes of Terminator II were going to be filmed in the area and launched an appeal for local hotels, inns and b&bs to put up members of the cast and production crew while filming took place.

We also said that while the plot was a closely guarded secret, the climax of the film would involve Llansteffan Castle being blown up.

We had lots of responnses from hotels etc offering to help but also a worried complaint from Cadw the Welsh monument people who were in a tizzy about the impending fate of their beloved castle. Very satisfactory!
