A New Years message from the Chair
I sincerely hope all Co-op members and County Supporters are having a happy & healthy Christmas. Christmas is a special time for families, and there’s no better family to be a part of than our own County family.
2024 has been exciting for County Supporters, who not only witnessed County win promotion to Division One this year, however go up as Champions with two games remaining. Dave Challinor and his team have already demonstrated intentions to make a positive impression on the First Division which sees us going into the important Christmas period handily positioned in a play off spot.
The County Supporters Co-op are proud to represent our supporters’ interests with the Club. We were pleased the Club listened to our concerns regarding ticket affordability, ensuring the prices for season tickets and match day tickets were not pricing County supporter's out. To help supporters struggling financially the Co-op launched an initiative that saw us buy four season tickets to be used by those that need a helping hand. This is proving popular, and our thanks go to the supporters who gave generously to enable us to buy the tickets.
If you would like help or if you’d like to nominate another County fan, please contact the Co-op at season.tickets@countysupporterscoop.co.uk
The Co-op have held some excellent events this year, including an evening with Oshor Williams & Tommy Sword, an evening with Dave Jones in aid of The Christie and an evening with Andy Preece. We have also been very active and successful in supporting local charities to the tune of around £3500 just this year alone.
The Co-op recently launched another initiative that enables members to benefit from discounted prices on coach travel to away games from both the Edgeley and Bredbury Con Clubs. Despite only being launched recently it’s already proving popular and is helping us oversee a significant increase in Co-op membership.
Can I take this opportunity to welcome all our new members as well as our existing members, as well as wishing County Supporters everywhere a Happy New Year.
2025 promises to be exciting especially with the redevelopment plans for Edgeley Park, as all County supporters will already be aware Edgeley Park has a very special atmosphere, which has been boosted this season by our sell out games and bigger attendances in League One. With this in mind it was pleasing that the Co-op were successful in renewing the Asset of Community Value (ACV) on Edgeley Park in June 2024.
The more members the Co-op has, the stronger our voice, and it’s the same with the Co-op Board. If you have any ideas or want to become more involved, don’t hesitate to get in touch on info@countysupporterscoop.co.uk.
See you at Edgeley Park New Year’s Day for our game with Birmingham.
Very Best Regards
Dave Marchbank
