SR mentions that the "Things we were doing last year are not functioning the same way.". The problem is that teams have long since worked us out and our style of play. We also miss options down the left with the loss of Jennings and Kitching. MSH is our only real attacking outlet.
We play the same formation and try and hold possession. Teams no longer sit back and allow us to do that, they've worked us out. All they need to do is close us down, press us and we are in all sorts of trouble.
There doesn't seem to be a plan B, no tactical change, we don't change formation or our style.
We resort to playing the ball across our defensive line and then clearing our lines in panic or playing long balls, when we have no target man, so we lose possession.
I was no fan of Ritchie Bennett (for missing countless easy chances), but he is a big loss. We are not holding possession up front, we are not winning flick ons and we are not bringing Reid / Madden into play, so they are both suffering.
