It's a nailed on certainty that subsequent zoom calls have discussed how they can re-jig their proposals and get who they see as the Premier League also-rans on their side.
The Premier League and Football authorities need to do something that deters an ESL2 emerging over the next couple of years. Financial penalties are pretty much wasted. They are just adding to the debt of some or paid off out of loose change by the owners.
Relegation to whatever level benefits the opposition Clubs but the outcome would probably end up with the current owners walking away and those that would suffer the most would be those with no control (Management players and fans).
IMO a restructuring of the distribution of money coming into the game would benefit everyone. Clubs should get a standard amount (as they do now) but should also get an amount based on the size of their support and rewarded for operating within their means.
Currently £200 million goes down the structure to the 72 EFL clubs - roughly the same amount that goes to each of the big 6. That hardly generates competition.
