I've spent the last couple of days re-reading Broken Dreams - Greed and the Souring of British Football'. Written in 2003 by Tom Bower - it was a brutal expose of how football lost it soul to the money men; bent managers and the cancer of corrupt agents.
Add to that some of my other football reading during the various lockdowns. 'The Fall of the House of Fifa' and 'Richer than God' which is about the sheikh take over at Eastlands. In summary what has happened is totally contrary to your summary of JG's culture.
So as you say "If that's a sacking offence then we're f***ed"
