Looking at Hatters Matters it's 24 years ago today since that great night at Upton Park. I haven't got round to writing about that yet but when I do it undoubtedly will mention the after-match encounter I had with a somewhat beefy Hammers fan. Crossing the car park I was approached by this character, and my spirits fell as I considered what might be about to transpire. How far can you be from the truth! he grabbed me by the hand and, with true Cockney accent, declaimed, "Well played mate - you really deserved that!"

Hatters Matters also told me that 3 years earlier we were at Boothferry Park - a 1-0 win. I have penned some words about trips there, (link below) - mainly reflecting on an earlier trip when my own "Rule of 6" was born. Includes pictures of the ground as it was - now long gone of course.
