Probably a political ploy as much as anything as it will, on top of the negative pandemic economic effect, totally empty the government coffers for sure and will of course give Labour no chance whatsoever in making public big spending to counter Tory austerity their next manifesto promise, yet again, annoyingly, whilst Labour squabble and try to rid themselves of the Momentum influence the Tories take advantage
Boris Johnson will unveil a new Chancellor Rishi Sunak taskforce to rapidly accelerate the modernisation of schools, hospitals, road and rail infrastructure.
The programme will rely on motoring ahead the Tory election pledge to invest £250 billion and get projects finished ahead of time by removing bottlenecks.
This includes 40 upgraded and new hospitals, four new prisons costing £2.4bn, stepping up the school modernisation programme and green lighting fast delivery of the £25 bn roads programme.
Northern Power Rail is expected to receive £40bn of spending.
The PM quotes there should be no excuse for allowing building plans to get tied-up in red-tape and plannin as happened with the Nightingale Hospitals projects.
The Infrastructure Delivery Taskforce will assess building programmes in every city and town to ensure communities across the country can benefit from spending to level up the country.
