Different things though. It might be ridiculous or even in bad taste, but no-one has ever discriminated against Burnley or Leeds fans because of who they support. Jews, on the other hand, have a long and, as most people who aren't Wayne Hennessy, know, at times appalling history of discrimination against them based on their religion (and arguably race). Calling someone an inbred might be rude, daft and perhaps even offensive, but it's really not the same as calling someone a yid.
This is where words and context are key. Another one where anyone who thinks there is a simple answer will get it wrong.
