Tottenham have 7,500 rail seats but they are not allowed to be used for standing (I mistyped when I said we couldn’t put in rail seats, it’s more we can’t use them as “safe standing”). They can convert them to the ones used for standing as soon as the rules are changed but the stadium is designated an all seater stadium currently.
I know Shrewsbury were petitioning for safe standing and they may well have put in the same facilities as Tottenham have but unless they have never gone all seater before they won’t be able to use them for standing.
We are not allowed to introduce standing areas because we went all seater after being required to for being in the second tier for the relevant amount of time. I would hope any new stand/stands would have the potential for standing to be introduced but until those rules are changed we wouldn’t be able to actually have it. The rule in England as it currently is is that any club that has gone all seater cannot introduce standing.
