Don’t think it’s a cut and dry as to say that players who have gone on to be successful liked Jim and players that haven’t didn’t like him (and wouldn’t call Nolan, Mconville, Clare failures).
As (I think Mozzer) pointed out recently, we don’t have a specific list of quotes to attribute to players to prove it either way.

Sure not all who have done well would be complimentary about him, equally sure some who haven’t made it would have positive things to say.
