Though people do need to get off their lazy arses as well. The number of people I see on the school run driving their kids, when I know they live a walk away, is infuriating.
And this is not about some holier-than-thou bullsh1t or living like a hippy. I drive a car as well as riding a bike so I'm not on a crusade to ban the things. It's simply about taking the time to decide to make some fairly small changes that collectively add up to something more.
And if you're going to do nothing because 'China' or 'India' or whatever, then your defeatist, lowest-bar-possible pessimism is helping no-one and you're missing the point that these things work out at the local and the global level. It's not just about climate change, but your car is pumping out stuff that is going to affect the air quality where you live. Obviously Beijing won't give a toss about that, but your kids/grandkids might not thank you for it.
