We've all done daft stuff as kids or when we've had a few, but this weird ultra thing with wordless songs seems to have nothing to do with actually supporting. It's attention seeking.
The comeback is always "At least they're making noise" but any dimwit can make noise and attract attention to themselves. That's why these shite "Ally ally oh" songs are ten a penny at provincial lower league clubs. They take 20 seconds to come up with.
Always had us down as a bit more witty, cerebral and dare I say it 'cooler' than that. We've got loads of loud, passionate, funny, clever songs. If they get edged out by a load of clapping seals then it's all a bit embarrassing.
Worst thing is they don't understand this, and don't want to. It's beyond them.
Smoke bombs aren't a big deal. Throwing them is daft though.
