For a very long time I didn't know anything about the family of Jim. Let me introduce myself first. My name is Gerrit (Gert) Rösken, living and born in the Netherlands back in 1940. In my younger days my father took me often to the cinema and I allways watched cowboy movies and I also was reading cowboy books. There it started my interest for Country Music. So back in april 1964 when Jim performed in the Netherlands I took the day of from work and went to Schiphol Airport where he would arrive together with Chet Atkins, Anita Keer Singers and Bobby Bare. I was ever so lucky that a reporter took me into de VIP room and I had the chance to shake hands with Jim and have a few words. A couple of months later Jim died in that plane crash. I had lost a friend thats how it felled. After so many years I'm still watching on YouTube his performances and listen to the records I have.
I am a grandfather myself, my wife and me, we have two sons, both are married and they together 5 kids, 3 girls and 2 boys. If you ever in the near future get to Europe, please let me know.
Wishing you and those you love, all the best.
Warm greetings,
Gert Rösken

Great country music is a Reeves family tradition.
