Have you ever had a chemically washed check given to you by a customer? (in other words, the "Paid To" name was deleted)
Years ago, YES, we received one. In fact, once we received it, we contacted the bank to see if there were enough funds in the account prior to us depositing it. There were and thus we shipped the order.
3 months later, WAMMO! A detective in Gary's lovely State of California called us to inform us of the chemically washed check.
Tuff lesson to learn for sure.
In today's WORLD, believe me, its like walking on eggs!!!
