Having a Bissell carpet machine won't cut it, period. Might as well have a pail, sponge, and a brush! A Bissell machine was not designed to with stand the daily riggers let a lone, yourself by trying to use one.
In 1971-2 I pushed my beater car up and into the parking lot of the Bank. Went inside and secured a business loan of $5,000.00. (A lot of money back then) Then, I purchased a electric TM machine, hoses, wand, etc.... Was I sweating on the way out of the Bank? Ofcourse. But then I went right to work selling my services.
If you are going to go into (any) business, you must have the confidence and a plan that you are going to make it! Otherwise, better not even think about it.
The advantage today however, is that there are means of learning unlike we had back then.
But, in the end, if you do enter this great industry, look Professional and acquire the right equipment to be competitive!
