Loom oil/mill oil is the only term I remember. I'm going to write it up as I see it, I'm lost with out a tech manual teferance to refer to.
I'll pull back the carpet, inspect pad, backing and subfloor. We'll get the oil out. I just HATE the carpet consumer getting the raw end. I live here on the border where invitaton to bids in every business. I'm burned our on fixing bad installs that legally & technically are not installed and considered damaged goods.
Nothing like arriving on a job down here that you can't use a rotary tool on a 2 year carpet install because of the ripples, waves, buckles, or wrinkled carpet depending your definition of shitty knee kicker installs.
Anyway, once upon a time I seen, read an industry something that claimed this problem was not a defect, I can't dig it up for the life of me.
