But, you also bring up something that never gets commented on these boards. "Stress". (And, if the Socialists get elected, Good Luck!)
Anyways, we all must try our best to control it because it will ultimately deteriorate us from within. We must take our focus off the idiots on the road, those few customers who are obnoxious, etc. In other words, we must "go brain dead" to a certain extent.
Not kidding either.
IMHO, and in the normal world of business, there are very few individuals whom truly care about your well being. As unfortunate as it is if you pass away tomorrow helping a customer, they will pick up the phone and call someone else.
That's reality and should not be considered a "bad attitude". Why? Because if we understand that our well being is more important than any other thing out there, then and only then can we help others from the heart.
I have made it a policy to re-energize on the weekends. I truly have a great time and set aside time with my wife, and family. Then, when Monday comes along I am refreshed and ready to go. "But" I do not and will not allow an occasional rude customer upset me. I will stop them; let them know I will respect them if they respect me. Otherwise, I suggest that they go elsewhere.
They never do and many have become great friends!
Anyways, great subject!
