New book on amazon

Has anyone purchased a book called “JIM REEVES BIOGRAPHY: Life, Love, and Tragedy: The Untold Story Behind
the Golden Voice” ? Published August 2025.
I downloaded a sample to my kindle but it did not really give you a “feel” of its contents.

You're batting 1,000, on new Jim Reeves products.

I ended up getting 9 fridge magnets of the more established album covers from you're last posting.

Checked on this new book, but I think I need to know more about how it compares to Larry's work before I make a purchase.

The price for the hardcover seems reasonable, however.

If the image on the front cover is anything to go by then I don’t hold much hope for the contents !!!
I do love the magnets but with the international postage to the UK they work out at £32 for 3 and as much as I want them , it’s a bit much.

Agree totally. That's why I am hesitant about the book.

Too bad about the magnets but I agree there also.

They will occupy a place of honor next to our Norman Rockwell magnet collection about Americana.

I took the plunge and ordered the kindle version because it was under £5.00. It really is bad, full of generalisations with very little fact. You learn more from some cd liner notes !!!!

Your observation about the quality of the cover was the first indicator for concern.

My second concern was that it was going to be a "cut and paste" from Larry's book which I have and am mentioned in.

You saved me from waisting $30.00 for the hardcover.

I really hope nobody spends any money on this garbage.

There is so much fakery going on these days.
People who can't write a simple declarative sentence are using AI to create fake books, generate fake pictures and fake posts. It is very alarming because they are distorting truth.

A couple of videos on YouTube even quote me about Jim and they are all lies.

They say you can't judge a book by its cover...but yes you can. The hideous picture on this book cover looks nothing like Jim and that tells you all you need to know about the contents.

Larry, good to see you back on the forum. You're right about all you said. There is so much trash on you tube now. Have you heard the AI recordings creating Jim's voice to make new songs. What do you think of thos Kind of creepy I think...

I Just want to point out what a "Joke" this book really is... as if we don't already know this. How about the mannequin-y front cover picture of an Alien for starters.

I was able to accessed a few pages of this thru a web site and one excerpt stated that after Jim died, Mary never remarried. That ended my read.

Larry's book "Jim Reeves..His Untold Story" that Larry spent in excess of 10 years researching is the "Hallmark Read" that anyone will ever need. End of discussion ! THANK YOU LARRY !!
