It has been a long time now since I first became a fan of Jim Reeves. I don't post anything here much, but I just want to let everyone who is interested know that I still listen to Jim's music almost every day. I still admire him. He's still my favorite singer, and I don't think that will change. I read something from Larry's book about Jim fairly often. When I get the chance, I try to introduce friends to Jim's music. Some of the younger ones haven't heard of him, which I find sad. Anyway, I'm glad to have this website to come to and post things about Jim. Hello to any of Jim's fans who might read this.

Always nice to hear from you, Gary, and I agree with you. Jim is the best and it is very sad that young people today have no idea who he is. Today's music in general can't compare to the music back in Jim's day...

Any friend of Jim's is a friend of mine. As Mike said, always good to hear from you Gary, so I guess that makes us all pretty close here on the Forum with a common purpose in keeping Jim's legacy alive and cherished.
I have a woodworking shop that keeps me busy these retirement days. Any time I get unfocused or stressed on a project,(surprisingly more that I would like to admit) all I have to do is put on one of the many Jim Reeves CD's in my workshop collection, and Jim's mellow voice and manner will always refocus me with the most difficult build.
keep posting on the Forum whenever you can, and I will do the same. Thanks Gary and Mike !!

Just thought I would add that not only did Jim have a vocal talent unsurpassed by many he also had an ear for other singing talent like Dottie West. Jim even mentiond Dottie's talent and how bright her future career was to be. I found a You Tube video of Dottie that overwhelmed me and i think all of you will be likewise impressed. Just search You Tube with the title "Dottie West Touch Me RCA Studio B Promotional Film". The film clip from 1963 also has a short interview where Dottie mentions Jim Reeves recording of "Is This Me'written by Dottie. The A team musicians includin Velma Smith on guitar and the Anita Kerr singers are great. Hope you enjoy this as much as I.

Jay, I just watched that video you mentioned with Dottie. That was great. I would have loved to have been there for that session. Loved Dottie's interview too. Thanks.
