Probably like many other fans of Charley Pride I played some of his music to-day given his passing yesterday. However, in my case I played one his CDs that ranks in my opinion as one of his best that being 'His Tribute to Jim Reeves".In Charley's words "this album comes from the heart..from my respect for Jim Reeves and my love for his music".Should you get the chance listen to Charley sing 15 of Jim's songs. At time, you swear you are listening to JR himself.Of interest is the fact that Leo Jackson was involved in this recording .I think he was playing the acoustic guitar at the time. I had the pleasure of seeing Charley perform several times.Once at Casino Rama here in Ontario he played a melody of some of Jim's greatest hits and received a standing 'O' right in the middle of he show. Great stuff all the way around ! Cheers
Haste makes waste...a correction "played a melody" should read played a medley ...sorry about that... As for the 21 song version of that tribute album/cd I have never found that CD here in Ontario but have read about it on the net...Thanks Paul for that Info
