I was thumbing through my old binders an came upon an article from Jim Reeves News about Winifred Breast. She was the high soprano that sang with the Anita Kerr singers on such JR songs as "Heartbreak in Silhouette and "Golden Memories and Silver Tears" as well as songs in Afrikaans.
A Google search yielded little except her passing.
Are the 2 CD's she did still available and where would I get them?
Thanks

I knew Winnie and her husband John (he was a pilot) and they both were delightful people. As you may know, I quote her in my book about the recording sessions she did with Jim. BTW, she also sang on his Christmas album.
One big regret I have is that she searched for years for a photo of herself with Reeves, and she could never come up with one, nor could I. However, one day someone contacted me with a bunch of pics taken during an RCA recording session, that I had never seen before. They showed the two of them conferring with Chet Atkins, practicing singing together, and then sharing a mic as they recorded. (Some of there are in my book, "Jim Reeves: His Untold Story." I was thrilled to have gotten ahold of these photos and called her number to tell her.
To my surprise, it was disconnected. When I further searched I learned she had passed away. I was shocked. It was so sad.
I taped all my interviews so I still have our conversations preserved.
She was such a sweet person and a wonderful singer. Her husband even sent me an aeronautical map as part of my research into the Reeves plane crash.
Somewhere in my collection I have a copy of a CD she recorded of Christmas songs that she sent to me. I ran across it in recent months but don't know where it is right now.
I will see what i can come up with.

I always thought Winifred's most impressive contribution to any of Jim's songs has to be "When You Are Gone', my personal favorite of all of Jim's catalogue. Her high soprano intro to this song is nothing short of a work of art. Forty eight years later it still stands the test of time. This song being even more special because Jim and Dean Manual wrote it, and recorded on Oct 17th, 1962.
In Larry's book 'Jim Reeves...His untold story' the picture Larry is referring to is on page 400. Actually two pictures in all. What a treasure thanks to Larry. Winifred is also mentioned on pages 373,395,428,436 and 439 ........thank you !!
Larry, hope you find Winifred's Christmas CD. That is an issue I would really like to hear !

Roy, I love "When You Are Gone". I think its just a wonderful song. And Jim's recording of it is superb. I listened to it a few days ago on YouTube.
