I'd like to share a new video with you that takes you behind the scenes of a Nashville recording session as Willie Nelson completes a new album in tribute to his close friend, Ray Price.
Both these guys were buddies of Jim Reeves, and Jim used to borrow Ray's twin engine plane and hire a pilot to fly it. Of course, in my book, "Jim Reeves: His Untold Story," I also share anecdotes about the three men and their interaction.
One reason I like this video is some of my musicians are in it and it shows you the collaborative spirit that exists when we work on overdub projects.
BTW, you will see the white haired gentleman conducting and that is D. Bergen White who did string arrangements and other work for Mary Reeves when she and RCA were doing their overdubs of Jim's songs. Although I actually play violin, Mr. White confided he does not, but I can tell you that he sure knows how to arrange strings (and vocals).

Recording sessions are interesting to watch. I noticed the contrast in the way they were recording compared to the way they recorded in Jim's day. Much more technology involved now.
