Those of you who are Elvis Presley fans (and I know many fans of Jim are), will know the name Ginger Alden. She was Presley's fiancee at the time of his death on Aug. 16th, 1977 and, in fact, is the one who found his body.
For many years, Ginger kept her silence as countless untrue stories were told about Elvis and her. Finally, she wrote a book called "Elvis and Ginger" that made the New York Times best-seller list last fall when it was released. Recently, Ginger celebrated the debut of her beautifully written, engrossing and well documented book in paperback format.
Late last night -- on the anniversary of Elvis's death -- Ginger suffered another great loss when her husband, Ron, died unexpectedly. This is a terrible shock.
I want to extend my deepest sympathy to Ginger, their son Hunter, and the entire Leyser family. How sad this sweet woman, who has written one of the best books about Elvis on the market, and is a person of great poise and integrity, has endured TWO significant tragedies on the same day, decades apart.
Very sad to hear this. Very fine lady who has been raked over the coal for many years by the ELVIS estate and some fans. After reading her book, I came to realize that she finally found the happiness she truly desired when she met her husband and had a baby. God bless Ginger,Hunter and Ron.
